I have been given a Samsung YH-920 Mp3 player. The software supplied is dedicated to Napster and requires I log in and supply credit card details, in order to use. I do not wish to use Napster, I just want to transfer existing music from my PC. Does anyone know of alternative software for this device?

Have you tried WMP 11 and sync the music to the player.

Presumming you are using XP you shouldn't need any software. Just plug in the MP3 player. Windows will recognise it as a removeable hard drive and you can just drag and drop your MP3 files on to it.
Well thats what I do with mine, unless the one you have is radically different you should be able to do that as well.

I have found a small utility in the Samsung software that fits the bill. Just drag and drop onto the MP3 player and then use "Repair Library" to index. Easy and fast.
