I have previously used the GRC firewall test but is this a good thing to disable plug n play?

Thanks in advance

I have run this on several computers including my own...not noticed any problems. Seems to do exactly what it says on the tin. I think it one of those things that unless you really need it, it doesn't hurt to disable. Whenever I set up a computer for someone I always disable as many of the features that aren't needed as possible. No point leaving potential hole for someone to attack (how ever unlikely that is!)

Hi, Yes its ok I use it automatically on every o/s instalation, don't get confused with the pnp that your o/s uses to recognize new hardware its not as it says on the grc website.

ps.ment to add:unplug n pray above is safe to use but all it does is disable ssdp and universal pnp in windows services.

you can do this manually by changing the start up type to disabled and restarting the computer if you want to.

I have used this little software. It is beautifully simple and has plugged my vulnerability in MS XP. Thanks to Shields Up.
