software programming

I would like to learn software programming but not quite sure where to start. Any help with pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

I had a post on this, I went down to a book shop and got some books on Programming.

Many internet sites offer this too. Search in google.

Good luck.

You could make a start using Visual Basic click here

However you might want to consider a variant on C click here

You might even want to consider Fortran (the Model T of prodramming) click here

If you use Word or Excel then you can program using VBA click here

Qmar 00:08 19 Jun 2003 can you run fortran on windows?
(simplistic question ) - I did basic fortran at school when I was 13-14 !

Google ... fortran for windows ... take you pick of many such ways.

Your first step is to consider what sort of programming you want to do - systems, applications, games, web sites (HTML), etc etc. Each has their own set of prefered languages, so whilst they all have the same basic principles, the route you go down will be different for each one.

Try a read here first click here
