  zeppman 20:08 28 Aug 2010

My smartbox 8320HD pvr requires that the external drive Is formated in Fat32.I know there Is a 32GB limit but I think there must be a simple way around this.Does anyone know of a free software that Is easy to use that I can format the 1TB drive in Fat32.I would prefer a tried and tested software that does what it says and someone has used with sucess.

If that doesn't work, partitioning software such as the free Easeus Partition Master click here should do the job.

cannot bypass FAT32 rules- its like getting software for your normal CD-drive to read Blueray disks.

1TB should not be a problem. Microsoft (some some weird reason) put a limit on the maximum size of FAT partition Windows will create. It will operate with larger ones.

Best partition manager, in my opinion, is GParted. If you create a "live" Linux CD you can run GParted and create, resize, delete partition with most formats.
