Software to control fan speed

Can anyone recommend, if it exists, software to control fan speeds, in particular the case fan?

If it helps the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8IPE775 Pro

Many thanks

click here although it's no good if your case fan has a direct link to the psu instead of motherboard.

Your motherboard only has speed control circuits for the CPU fan - so it's not possible to control the case fan speed just by software. You'll need some type of hardware fan speed cntroller. You'll also find some fans have an in-built fan speed control that may be simpler.

If it's just noise you want to diminish, twin ball bearing fans, mounted on rubber washers are helpful - and you could look for one with a lower speed, to prevent air-noise.

Thanks for comments, the fan is the original provided by Time many years ago, that the floppy and the case are the only orignal it is probably time to invest in a new fan.
