Socket error

Good day again forum,
I have tried to upload some files with CuteFTP and another similar program, both trial versions. With both programs, I get the message that the transfer has failed due to Socket Error. I have broadband, and all is working fine, so what does this mean, and can I resolve it.

but I think I know what the problem might be. Take a look in the FTP settings and see if you can find a reference to 'Passive mode'. If it's there, enable it, and see what happens.

I have been told that it maybe a firewall problem. I will try that and have a look at the Passive mode that the F.E. suggested. I will keep the thread open until I have resolved it in case it helps someone else.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
