Is a Socket A-AMD Athlon XP2400 "462 Pin ?"

Just been looking at a cheap motheroard to build on and it states that the AMD XP CPU must be of 462Pin I didn't know there is more than one type.

Can anyone confirm a XP2400 Socket AMD Athlon XP is 462 pin please.

The AMD Athlon is a Socket A, also known as Socket 462. Original Athlons were slot types, known as Slot A, the Athlon 64 is Socket 754. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of other pin or ball-grid arrangements being mad, but I haven't heard of them being on sale to the public.
