Cptr slow. XP SP3 AMD 2000, 1GBRAM,

Checked all normal. Ran utility called "See what's running on your computer", cant remember where i got this. It shows up a "Panda Internet Security 2007"product which i had uninstalled ( using AVG 8.5).
This does not show up in Task Manager or anywhere else.
Used CleanReg 3 which found and deleted several references to it but it still shows.
Used others with same effect, none.
problem is slowness, trying to resolve.
Any help appreciated.

Other steps like drive defrag, check all OK

Ps Cptr still working same, so far.

Thanks Strawballs: Lots of icked items but no panda anywhere. Hard to get this data included in this message. Got it as scren image but cant include.

Thanks Jack1e : Task manager shows > 97% whe Idle.
In CP ( Control Panel ) Adm tools / services no mention of panda.

Maybe I should just use C Cleaner or perhaps problem elsewhere.

Any further help welcome.

Slowness.Check the air vents are not clogged up with dust and fluff if so inside will also need cleaning.Apart from AVG what other security programs have you got.
Instead of C Cleaner try Winaso Optimizer[free or trial]it will only repair 10 items at a time but you can run it as often as you like.Well worth a try and should speed up your also does an automatic backup and has different things that you can use.

Also try Run type in cmd.Ok. Command prompt will appear. Type in ipconfig /flushdns[small gap between ipconfig and forward slash or it will not work]Enter. It should tell you Dns cache has been flushed if so reboot your computer and see if any difference.

Speed test to make sure that you are getting the proper download speed.

Maybe to many programs at start up.Run.Type msconfig. ok.Start up I only have 5 programs in start up you should not need much more.
You may have your Anti-virus running at start up.Maybe change the time it runs or maybe run it manually when you want it to run.AVG has a great little tool on it that you can set to run a scan and it will automatically power down the computer when the scan is finished.
let us know what anti-Spyware you have and what Firewall.
Maybe try Search and type in Panda and see if that brings up any old files.

buteman: Ran CMD and flushed DNS /reboot and same.

Installed and ran WinAso Found and cleared 150 errors.
ShutDown/StartUp same.

Had no AntiSpyware on so got and ran SuperAntivirus. his found 40 cookies and 2 Rootkit things , cleared all.
ShutDown/StartUp seems much faster.

Did a few things and all seems faster.

Will test again tomorrow.

many thanks to all who helped.
