Slow Wireless Connection

Hi there

I have just purchased a Sony Vaio VGN-NR38E laptop and have tried connecting to the Internet wirelessly using the BT homehub that I have connected via ethernet to my main PC. The connection speed on the laptop is non existant, it takes approx 5 mins for any page to load up - and thats at quick speed!

We only have a 1mb connection speed where we live but the main computer is okay speedwise, but could this be the reason for the slow connection on the laptop? Does anyone know of a way I could speed the connection up?.

Thanks

First, is it possible to connect your laptop up to the homehub with your cable to do a speed check. This will cross out any problems with the ISP end of your system.
Then do a speed check with any free speed check sites (do a google) which you can find.
I had a similar problem and I used a site called
click here to reset my TCP options. I am not saying you have to go that route, but it sorted mine out ok. I went from 2mbt to over 7 after I used it.
hope this helps you.
