I am running a Sony all in one with Windows XP. The RAM is only 521mb and can only be upgraded by the same amount. Would this help with some slow web pages. I have noticed on some web sites the fans start going and it struggles to scroll the page. Would having the extra ram help. My broadband is fine for speed.

(I presume that 521mb is a typo and you meant 512mb)
For a Sony all in one, I find it hard to believe that you can't put more ram in than 1Gb (two 512mb sticks) What model is it and are you sure the motherboard can't take more? You can check on the Crucial.com/uk website, run the scanner and it will tell you what ram you can put in.
Sorry everyone for not being clear. I use Explorer 7 and yes I meant 512. The manual says it will only take 1024mb. The Model is a VAIO VGC-V2S intel pentium 4. It only happens on certain sites like PC Advisor and EBay, generaly the broadband speed is fine. Just don't want to pay for an upgrade if it won't help. Thanks for your interest. Its an all in one desktop.
Yes, that pc only takes a max of 1Gb (two sticks of 512mb) Upgrade memory on Sony VAIO VGC-V2S upto a maximum of 1.0 GB
PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMMs, with maximum 512MB per slot in 2 memory slots. The Sony VAIO VGC-V2S takes the PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMMs Memory Type.
If it was mine I would put the extra stick in, you would notice a bit of improved overall pc performance.. It may not make any difference to certain web pages loading faster though as that is dependant on the servers that send them to you.
