slow start up xp

My pc takes up to 2 mins to boot up is this usual
i'm sure its getting slower
i have a athlon 1000 374mb ram

i used bootvis and the 90% of the time is the logon + serv time

i have stopped all start ups except windows Mcafee Security center 2004

also do in need it to start up in selective start up mode

try clearing out all your temporary files.

One of two things can slow it down, too many background programs starting with computer at boot or AV is checking the drives some are worse than others
