Slow Start Up

  Adz1310 13:43 21 Feb 2006

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to increase my start up time. I have done the msconfig and got my icons right down, though I have timed it about 1.30 to 2mins. Which i think is quite slow. Any chance of how to decrease it? hope someone can help thanks

Have you recently cleaned up your registry for invalid links, broken shortcuts, etc.? First time I did that I found a big decrease in startup time.

Have a look at this, click here , i have recently used it. It sped up my booting, but some of the settings on shutdown caused my pc to hang on the windows shutdown screen.

Adz,mine takes about 2-3 mins to completely boot up.

Adz it might be good idea to run Ewido click here
Spybot search and destroy
Microsoft known as Defender.

Try Ewido first,as it is very good. All the programs are free.
