Sloppy laptop mains connection

  Halmer 13:16 29 Oct 2008

The connection to my laptop has gone sloppy and the power supply is intermittent to the extent that it keeps beeping.

I suspect it's my lad who has caused this because he mauls the thing to death.

The metal prong on the side of the laptop looks solid so is it likely to be a worn connector within the lead?

Can I repair this in any way?

To my recollection it has never felt particularly sturdy or solid but has always maintained a connection in the past.

It would be better to buy a new Power Supply. An intermittent connection could cause a short, and irreparable damage to your laptop.

Pass the bill to your son :))

Managed to order one thanks.

Just hope that it sorts it.
