Has any one any info on the possibility of slipstreaming win 98 and the latest updates, before ms stops offering them?
Any info gratefully received

Slipstreaming is a Corporate Administration tool. It allows corporate administrators to create installation disks incorporating updates and patches into a single installation disk.

It is only available with WinNT/2000/XP and MS Office. It has no relevance with Windows 98 which is mainly a home OS.

Microsoft used to issue a CD for all systems (including Win 98) with all the relative updates on it to cover up to about Feb 2004.
Unfortunately they no longer supply this CD but since then I have always installed the current updates and then downloaded them again so as to save them to a CD.
This is one way to protect your system should the updates ever become unavailable.

AVIDA - if you want the CD, email with your address and I will post it to you. It is over a year old so will still need some online updates but if you have only dialup it will vastly reduce the number of downloads required.
