just completed slip stream installation disc
with xp2
is there a way i can test to ensure its good

Just drop it into the tray and run it. If it starts to "try" to install the OS, just cancel it at the first opportunity. The only real test though is to use it in earnest.

Sri, normally yes, but sometimes in the past when I have left an installation disc in the tray in error and booted the PC without changing the boot order, it has booted from the CD anyway.

no does not boot from cd on start up if i change
bios to boot cd on start up can i check and
quickly cancel or will it go off and rip up

You can let it run for quite a while because it temp stores setup files in the ram, you can let it get as far as asking which volume you want to format, cancel it then and nothing will be changed as the setup files are only in the ram.

If you are worried unplug the hard drive and will run to the point of formatting and tell you that there is not Hard drive then cancel it and plug drive back in.
