Ok I got Skype version on my rig here for some reason the the start menu and desktop icons appear to have lost its formating although the program opens fine if you can view the link of the situation and offer a workaround It would be great.

Try hilighting the icon and pressing F5 key to Refresh it.

no go.

Right click on the icon, down to Properties, click - click on the Change Icon button. You might have to browse to the skype program folder to find the icon.

The only other suggestion I can give you is to delete the icons and make new ones.

Ile see if a clean install might do it.

Why - didn't doing a "change icon" work - it certainly should.

This might not be the best answer, however, here's what I did. First, I deleted the "Skype" icon from my desktop. Since deleting an icon from the desktop doesn't corrupt or delete the program, you shouldn't have any issues here. Then I went to my Skype installation folder which is at C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone and right clicked on the Skype program which is represented with the Icon I want on the desktop. Scroll down to "Send to" and click on "Desktop (Create Shortcut)" and that will give you the nice blue Skype Icon on your desktop. It will be called "Shortcut to Skype". To change the name from "Shortcut to SKype", just right click on the "Shortcut to Skype" icon and rename it to anything you want. I just changed mine to "Skype" and now my desktop looks perfect once again and I feel at home in my digital world.

Hope this helps.

And it did too thanks for the help, I did on the other hand took a nose on the Skype Forums, it might be just a software bug.

The easiest way is to copy the .exe file in program files to your desktop, create a shortcut of the newly placed icon to also place on the desktop, then change the icon of the shortcut in its properties and delete the first desktop copy.
