Skype and 'cximage.dll'

For the last week or so, whenever I establish a video connection a warning flag pops up 'Cannot find cximage.dll'. When I click on this another flag appears 'Error loading V0350C vw.dll'
When I click on this it disappears and Skype appears to be operating normally.

I'm wondering what this is all about, and could I get rid of it by installing an earlier version of Skype?

Sorry, should have said, running XP Home(SP2) and using a 'Creative' live cam Video IM

cximage.dll is not a Skype file. A quick Scroogle implicates that file in malware - as in desktop surveillance and key logging. I don't believe that's the case here though, I think it's part of your camera software. I have cximage.dll for the Webcam Max software.

Try downloading/installing the latest version of Skype - which is V3.8.0.115

Yes, I've discovered that 'my' copy of cximage.dll is credited to 'Pizzolato Davide', whoever he may be and is in the Live!Cam folder.

I've moved it to a spare folder just in case, and will install the latest version of Skype.

Thank you for the help.
