Skype add-on warning

My Firefox screen has just flashed up a security warning concerning a Skype add-on. It stated it was a security risk and the action was to restart Firefox. I did so and it then didn't want to reload. I cancelled and then clicked on Firefox and it loaded. Anyone know anything about this?

I've just had the same (using FF too) but clicked on 'Cancel' and am carrying on. Be interesed to read further posts, of course.

I don't use Skype, as it happens, so would quite happily uninstall if necessary.

Cheers

My warning stated that the add-on was known to cause crashes. Since I don't use the add-on I was quite happy to have it disabled.

Cheers both, does either one of you know whether, restarting, automatically disabled it?

I've just checked via Tools, Addons and found Skype to be greyed out and a red exclamation mark against it. I don't use it so have uninstalled it now.

I would suspect your Skype may be disabled, then. Check via Tools etc.

This looks like it was the problem.
