SiS khooker - safe or not

I'm running XP SP2 on an old system, and I have the program SiS khooker (khooker.exe) running on startup. Is this essential. I've heard many reports that it is not and it uses lots of CPU.

If its not, how do I remove it from
a) startup
b) computer

and how can I reinstall it once removed.

Where is the program folder (C:\\?)

Thanks,

Start up control, reverse it if you want to. click here No you do not need it at start up.

As Anskyber has pointed out,it is not needed to run at startup.
As above ,use msconfig to stop this from startup.
You may need to stop the service also,

Start / run and type

services.msc

and enter,if any relevance to Khooker exists, stop the service.
