SIMS 2 and laptop

As one of my daughters currently hogs our main PC for hours on end playing the Sims 2 game, I'm looking to replace her ancient (Windows 95!) laptop with one capable of playing the Sims 2 game, which seems to be quite fussy about the graphics power that it would require. I'm looking to spend under (preferably well under) £500, so I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a laptop that will run the game okay, especially if you already own such a machine and run the game.

Ta very much.

Thanks for the info, folks. Looks like I might not have to spend as much as I'd feared. :)
