Hi, I can get this software to do a system shred, but can't work out how to get it to shred free space? Any time I try, all it does is open a recovery program. Any help would be great,
Regards, S

Doesn't Ccleaner do this now?

Hi, .... dunno, I never use CC.

Hi Techno, just downloaded Ccleaner and under the advanced heading (scrolling down a bit) it shows 'wipe free space'. So it does then.

I use Ccleaner also, and just noticed a couple of days ago that it now has the option to 'wipe free space'. Have used it, seems to work, though I ues a recovery program, which still had file that could be recovered, so it's still leaving some old stuff in the free space. Thanks for the responses. S

Tried Disk Redactor on a small partition. Tried Recuva to recover the files. Show as Disk Redactor files but can't open them. On Windows 7.
Worth a go; click here
Used Malwarebytes file assassin to remove one file but Recuva still picked up the file after another scan. Might need rebooting after removal though.
