Shuttle XPC video playback problems

  ffsmorris 20:41 13 Oct 2006

My Shuttle SN95G5 V2 has been working fine with video playback until yesterday. Once any type of video file is played the system slows down to a snails pace and has to be reset. I have tryed removing various software and codecs with no success. The only way i can get a video to play is to uninstall the driver for my Geforce 6200 card and then all types of video playback ok. I have tried installing new nvidia drivers, old nvidia drivers, the original nvidia driver but with no success.

My version of XP is uptodate, the latest bios for my XPC is installed. What more can i do.

If the video will playback using xp VGA drivers then the issue must be with the 6200 card.

Uninstall the drivers and reboot

When windows tries to load drivers for the card, cancel it. Windows will use a VGA driver.

Reinstall the 6200 drivers and reboot again. windows will now install the 6200 drivers.

Also: make sure you are using the latest direct x
