What setting do you have to change to stop Windows XP bringing up the message

"it is now safe to turn off your computer"

Just want the auto shutdown as is normal. I have changed it in the past but just cant remember what I need to change

I have never come across this problem, but try:-

Start, Control Panel, Power Options.

If there is an APM tab click it.

Select Enable Advanced Power Management Support, and then click OK.

Just a thought - there may be something in the BIOS.
