signed up with virgin and as you get a external modem fitted is it a good idea to disable my innternal modem for fear of diallers or any related problems..
Internal modem is for dial-up use with a telephone line from socket to computer. As you are now broadband (I assume), that line is no longer needed so there is no risk.
The only reason, that I can see, that you may wish to keep your old Modem for is in order to send Faxes.
...or gain access to the internet if there are problems with Virgin BB - to contact them and raise a problem.
It will not be connected, so no problems. Just ignore it.
As iscanut says, forget it,its not plugged into phone line.
