I'm not hopeful this can be done, but is there a shortcut key(s) to get back to the home page of the current website you're viewing?

Not that I know of - but many sites have a link to their homepage, such as the one on this PCA site at the top of the column of links.

However, someone may know better.

When you say "get back to" I presume that's where you started navigating round the site.
If so, and you're using IE7, or even 8 I think, ther'es a small downward arrow beside the forward and back buttons in the top left of your screen.
Click this down arrow and it shows all the pages you've viewed in that tab.
"History" will also hold a record.

Sea Urchin's aproach its the most logical, though some sites don't provide that facility on all sub pages!

Most times I prefer to use keys rather than the mouse. eg. ctr+k for google search, ctrl+l to highlight the address so I can type in any website (firefox). Thanks anyway.

Easy way highlite address click the Address in box and drag to start menu wait for start to expand, let go and it will put the url there as a shortcut you can right click it and delete it when you have done with it

woodchip, that's way too much mouse work which was what I was trying to bypass.
