Will somebody kindly advise me how to create a shortcut to open Explorer with C: root selected? Right-click on Start button opens at Docts & Settings/User/Start which is cumbersome.
Thanks in advance.

You can create a shortcut to Windows Explorer by right clicking it in Programs or in Explorer itself and creating the shortcut on the Desktop.

But there doesn't appear to be a way of opening it with the C drive....

No doubt someone will come up with the answer...:-)

This is the shortcut I use in Windows XP:- C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,c: Note the space after .exe

Thanks, Mr Mistofflees. It worked fine from the Run box.

But I would like it as a shortcut icon on my desktop.

Right click on desktop select new/shortcut enter the following C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,c:

Click next and there you go.
