How do you share a scanner in XP Home and Pro?

PS. This is becuase I cannot get my old mustek running so I will have to share a Scanner.

How do you do it?

Not sure but have you tried the second link I gave in your other thread. I noticed you had ticked, so probably you didn't get an e-mail.

I am running it now. ;-) (Hope it works)

I haven't seen your other link, Gaz 25, or your reply, Djohn, but I don't think it's possible to share a scanner over a network.

ooops, found your other post. Didn't have to look too far.

  Gaz 25 00:56 02 Mar 2003

but now how.

Do you mean on a network? If so, this question has cropped up a number of times and I've never seen a satisfactory answer.

Unlike printers, there's just no provision for recognition of scanning software when in a network.

If it's with XP Pro and Home on the same computer, just install the scanner and it's software to both systems.

Yes, I mean a network too.

  flecc 00:59 02 Mar 2003

That's news to me on XP, but it seems it's not widely known how since previous enquirers I've seen posting haven't found solutions.

Like flecc, I haven't seen it done yet, unless the scanner has a built in network device, which normal flatbed scanners don't usually have. But if you do manage it, keep us posted, it would help on loads of forums where I've seen the question asked.

They say to use a USB Ethernet Hub, that connects any USB device up to a Network, but I have never found one.
