Sharing Programs

On XP how do you make programs shareable with all users.

I have two users on my PC and there is a program on the other persons log in that I require regular access to. How do I get it into my program list as well.

login to the persons accounts with the programs you wish to use and follow the sequence below:

right click the desktop icon of a program you wish to use and select properties, click shrtcut tab;

in the target area for example might be C;\Progam Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe,you would neeed to navigate to the file firefox.exe at the targt location and copy firefox.exe

go to C;\Documents and Settings, goto the other users folder, and paste the file into the desktop folder of the user's folder. YOu would have to do this for each program you wish to use.

Or get the administrator to go:

C:\Documents & Settings\USER WHO HAS THE PROGRAM\Start Menu\Programs
Make a shortcut of the program you want and then drop that shortcut into
C:\Documents & Settings\USER WHO WANTS IT\Start Menu\Programs

If you dropped it into ALL USERS instead then everyone would have access to it.

I think that should work.

You might have to ensure that Show hidden files is ticked or Hide protected operating system files in unticked though, in order to see those folders, I'm not sure.

And maybe a restart afterwards
