Mine does.

Daughters puter up stairs and mine is down stairs.

Mine connected to the router with a metre cable and daughters is connected with a 15 metre cable.

Works great.

The spec for a Cat5 cabled ethernet connection is about 100 mtrs, my experience is that the connection dies very quickly if you go past this limit, however you could buy a small hub which would refresh the signal and allow an additional length. I have had my system running with the longest cable that Maplins sell - more than enough to go from any room in my house to any other - without a problem.
