Sharing Excel files

I wish to view and backup Excel files on the 2nd computer on a directly wired network. How is this done, please?

their are two ways of doing this
I am assuming you have excel on both machines

First off create a folder on the 2nd machine
right click on the folder you have created then select sharing tick the share this folder box then give a share name example my files-1$ dont use that exact name the dollar sign on the end hides the folder from normal view on the network

next go to the first machine right click my computer
map network drive

to do this \\2ndpc\myfiles-1$ press enter

now go into my computer this should show as a drive

Nearly there ok first of you can create the files on machine one then right click the xls file copy then paste it to the ew folder

or you can automatically save the file to the 2nd machine by going into excel

select tools /options then the general tab

then change the default save file path
using the drive letter the mapped drive has given you so example F:\my files-1$

I found another way before I tried yours - Copy this file, Shared Documents. That works, too.
