Sharing a BT Broadband connection

  Charleu 11:45 19 Mar 2003

My family have at last decided to sign up to Broadband. At the moment however we are not entirely sure which provider to sign up to; from what we can work out the only two providers we have access to in our area are BT and Blueyonder.
However we have the problem of sharing the connection between an Apple iMac, a PC laptop and an Xbox (for Xbox Live).
What would be involved in this? Am I right in thinking that as far as the iMac and PC laptop are concerned I could just buy two broadband modems? one for each. However this would be really expensive.
Is there a cheaper way to share the same broadband connection by networking the three devices (which all have ethernet cards) together? How would one go about this?
