Setting Up Wireless Network <> Wireless Router

Hey,

I'm in the process of working out how to set up a wireless network for a friend. They currently use a standard non-wireless router that has 4 ethernet ports as it's output.

For reasons best known to himself, he wishes to keep using this router as his primary router and just extend the network by plugging in another device into one of the ethernet ports to setup the wireless network.

This can be done by setting up an ad-hoc connection from one of the computers directly connected by ethernet but my query is can this be done simply by plugging a wireless router from one of the ethernet sockets on one, to one on the other?

My gut instinct says no but I can't think of anything else that might indeed do it.

Any help/suggestions you can give would be very appreciated

Thanks

You need a Wireless Access Point device which will allow you to connect via an

Ethernet cable to one of ports on the router
