Setting up Wireless Broadband

I have BT Bradband 500 using an Alcatel Speed Touch USB ADSL modem. What hardware do I need to set up a wireless connection between my pc and my laptop docking station downstairs? To use a Linksys Wireless Access point, do I need to get a different ADSL modem since the Alcatel is a USB connection? I am a novice and need really basic help on this.

Linksys do a wireless modem router which you can get from PCWorld click here for £129, though they are out of stock on the web page you may be able to get one from your local PCW, you will also need to get a compatible wireless network card for each pc you want to have on the network.

Thanks. By wireless network card do you mean the wireless pc card that goes
into the slot on the side of the laptop? And does the Linksys wireless modem
router replace the Alcatel modem as well as serving as the wireless connection
to the laptop?

not sure on the first one (best check before you buy it, but i think so) and yes on the second.
