I have just ordered a new laptop and intend to share my broadband connection with it wirelessly. My desktop PC has a LAN card, and the laptop has a wirless PCI card. So I am right in saying that all I need is a wireless router with a built-in modem?
If you have ADSL broadband delivered via the phone line, then the hardware you need is a combined "Wireless Router & ADSL Modem". This replaces the (USB?) modem that you are currently using and any software you have installed for the modem and connecting to your ISP should be uninstalled. It will be the router's function to establish the internet connection with the ISP.
