Setting up Outlook/Hotmail and exporting contacts

I've subscribed to Hotmail for email. The blurb from Microsoft suggests I can use Outlook as the front-end interface. Is this easy to setup? Can I download Outlook for free or is it already bundled in my XP Office suite (student edition)?

Also, whether I use Outlook or the native Hotmail interface, I want to export my contacts from another pc (which uses Outlook) and import them into either Outlook or Hotmail on my new pc. How can I do this? The help for Outlook Address Book doesn't even contain the word "export", so does Bill not want me to do it?

Outlook cannot be downloaded free. You can use Outlook Express which is a cut-down version of Outlook.
