Setting up new router

I am soon getting a laptop with wireless capability and have received a new Wireless Router from my ISP. I would like to get the new Wireless router up and running before the new laptop arrives in a week or so, and use it with an Ethernet cable to my desktop in the meantime. I'll also sometimes continue to use the desktop (which doesn't have Wireless) even after the laptop arrives. In the instruction booklet, it shows connecting the router and first of all setting up the wireless, and only then moving on to set up the ethernet wired connection. My question is: Will it matter if I first set up the ethernet connection and then enable the wireless when the laptop arrives? I'm anxious not to mess anything up and would appreciate some advice!

Strange it is usually the other way round, Wired first then wireless.
Go ahead you should have no problems
PS Which ISP.

Will give it a try - fingers crossed!
