I have recently bought my wife a new laptop and want to set up my home broadband connection on the laptop but also want to keep the same account on my desktop. How do I go about this? Can it be wireless? What do I need? Thanks in advance, David M

Are you on ADSL or cable? If the former then you can get a modem / router and share the connection wirelessly around the house. If cable, then I don't know.

Does the laptop have a wireless receiver built in? If not, it will need one added also.

PS dearch the main forun (helproom) for "wireless" and you should find lots of info.

I'm on ADSL.

Is the router/receiver the only thing I'll need then, is it that simple?

A good modem / router, such as the one linked to above will connect to the phone socket and to your PC.

That will then send a wireless signal to the laptop which can be received by the included adaptor.

It really is "that simple" - at least it was for me.
