I have recently bought my wife a new laptop and want to set up my home broadband connection on the laptop but also want to keep the same account on my desktop. How do I go about this? Can it be wireless? What do I need? Thanks in advance, David M
Are you on ADSL or cable? If the former then you can get a modem / router and share the connection wirelessly around the house. If cable, then I don't know.Does the laptop have a wireless receiver built in? If not, it will need one added also.
PS dearch the main forun (helproom) for "wireless" and you should find lots of info.
click here for a good router / receiver.
I'm on ADSL. Is the router/receiver the only thing I'll need then, is it that simple?
A good modem / router, such as the one linked to above will connect to the phone socket and to your PC.That will then send a wireless signal to the laptop which can be received by the included adaptor. It really is "that simple" - at least it was for me.
Thanks a lot then fellas, I'll get me one of those and mark this down as resolved. Nice 1 David M
If you you are going to do a search for wireless you will be better of in the network forum
