In my house i have a desktop computer connected to internet broadband via ethernet cable to a virgin set top box. I have bought a laptop and want to set up a wireless connection for it. If i want to do so, can i continue having my desktop connected via ethernet aswell as a wireless cable router?

thanks belta

Try getting a 4 port Wireless Cable Router, the sort that gets its input using an ethernet cable (not the more common ADSL Modem Router type)

By plugging your existing ethernet cable from the Virgin box into the routers input WAN port then connecting to your desktop from one of the routers output LAN ports using another ethernet patch cable (routers usually come with at least one in the box) after that all you may need do is access the router setup page and turn on the wireless part but the manual will explain how to

Cheers HC
