I have just set up my new pc and wish to use the hdmi as a source of picture transfer to my tv, i thought it would be a case of just connecting up. would anybody know if there is a menu i must go to and enter a setting? maybe?
Would be greatful if someboy could lead me in the right direction, thanks

You know what model of TV and PC you have. Unfortunately you haven't told us, which makes it difficult to help.
The best advice is read the associated manuals first then give some more details, in a future post,if you cannot find the solution yourself.
If your TV is HD ready then you should have a menu to choose the input signal path,

sorry, I have a sony bravia lcd tv, and a mesh mini stylas. The graphics card is nvidia 512mb with hdmi out, the tv has (pc) mode and works fine with a vga cable. I have gone through the graphics card settings on screen and manual, and the system start up menu to see if there was an option available to me. thanks
