serious error messages

In continuation of several problems I've experienced recently, my computer restarted this morning without warning, while I was online, and then a message appeared, which I've had before: "system has recovered from a serious error" - this error was translated in the log as follows:
BCCode : 4e BCP1 :
00000099 : BCP2 :
000300062 BCP3 :
00000007 BCP4 :
0000000 OSVer :
5_1_2600 SP : 2_0
PRODUCT : 768_1

I have no idea where to get info as to what this means, or what to do to prevent - grateful for any enlightenment

Which operating system are you using? Also which browser (Internet Explorer?) Can you give a little more detail about the several other problems - are they related?

Yes - I'm using Windows XP/SP2 and Firefox browser, latest 1.07
