Serioulsly running out of space

I use my older computer to store music. However, having deleted almost everything from the computer, except the music I'm massively running out of space.

Total size - 19GB
File space - 401MB

I noticed that there is something allowing you to compress drive to save disk space. Can I do this and is it likely to harm anything?

It will save about 100mb but its not worth it,I had a old laptop that had a compressed drive.things were painfully slow.

Your better off spending £40 on a new hard disk drive.

Or buying a CD-writer,then copying your files to a CD?

as BIG Ben strikes 10 again! would buy new hard drive, can get 120gb for are £60 or get a dvd writer and save music files as mp3's or WMA files if not all ready saved this way. windows media player will do this for you as well but would buy dvd writer with nero for other burning jobs.

Thanks,

I think a new hard drive looks the way forward! Music files already compressed to mp3
