Serial Ata Hd connection

My new Mb Abit KT7-Max2 has an ata serial connection for thr HD, does that mean that I have to get a special ata Serial Hd, i have a fast 60gb installed will that work

No just use the IDE connections.

didn't quite get the reply, do you mean ignore the ata and use my ide connection or did you mean just connect it to the existing HD,
I know how to connect it
what i was asking was, do i need a special ata hadr drive? or would it work with any hd

Connect the drive to the IDE connection, ignore the ATA connection.

If you look at all the reports on ATA, it's nothing to jump about (yet)

If you want to connect your drive to the ATA connection, i do not think you can. You would have to buy a new ATA HDD.

The IDE connection and serial connections are completely different.
