sent email fails to arrive

Recently I sent an email that contained a Word document that contained a roadmap as an embedded object. I was then using tesconet and the recipient tiscali. Has any one similar experience?
Is it an ISP problem or one I may have caused myself? As I did not know which version of Word the recipient had I chose the lowest on my cptr.

It is possible that the roadmap pushed the file size above the isp limit. I prefer to send a graphic as a separate file. Any computer should be able to display a jpg or tif graphic.

But if it was rejected (presumably by recipient ISP)shouldn't I have received a failure notice?

I never have had to change or select any particular version of word before sending out.

All my mail is sent as plain text only.
