Sending photos

A family member wants to send me about 400 photos each around 2 MB. I need the photos in their original size. I do not want them uploaded on photosharing programs like Picassa or Flickr.
We both of have broadband and enough hard drive space.
What is the best way to do this?

Burn to a disc and post it?

I suggest burning them to a couple of CD's or to a data DVD and posting them. It would take ages to do it via e mail. Altermatively send some at a time , attaching the original files as attached files.

Guess that's the only way.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Also consider memcards/sticks.

Not as cheap as discs if you dont get them back.
But a lot easier? A 1GB or 2GB card would do you for the photos.

1 card could be sent in a letter though.
A CD/DVD would need a jiffy bag? £1.27/£1.37 postage + cost of bag

Cards work in some mobile phones.
With SD/USB adaptor work in PCs
With USB adaptor can be uploaded to some PVR HDDs.

Also useful for general PC-PC or laptop transfers

I use 4GB/8GB for that, any bigger capacity getting a bit expensive at the moment. Hopefully will be half price in a year or so.
