I have been trying to send a file to a friend.
Unfortunately this friend only has Windows on th PC. how can I send a a file without it being returned, or, so that it is supported by the only software that is available on Windows.

What windows you have, What windows your friend has and what software is the document created in e;g Word, lotus etc.

Depends on the file... but it should not get returned whatever type it is.

I run Wins 98
My friend , I think, runs Wins XP, (he is in Turkey)
I have tried using Word and Serif Photo Plus, and as last resort used my doc.
I have to scan the document before sending it.

It was returned because it was to large, but that was in Word Imaging

Could this perhaps be a problem because your friend's mailbox is full, or nearly full?

If you're trying to send a Word, text only document, it should be easy enough for your friend to open if, you save it from Wordpad. Rich Text Format is also a useful format for transferrring files between different appplications without losing formatting. Both Wordpad and RTF files are compact for emailing.
