Sending emails from iphone via 3G

I have an iphone 3G and my ISP is Virgin ADSL. I have set up my iphone with my Virgin account. I can send and receive emails via my home wireless network but, on 3G, I can only receive emails. When I try to send via 3G, I get an error message saying the address isn't recognised. Any thoughts?

Have you put in the outgoing server for the iphone? (Not the same as Virgin account on your computer)

Thanks Taff I'll try this. However, I've just dicovered that, following a change to Virgin's email system, some of my incoming emails are going to my iphone and not to my pc!

There might be a setting on the phone to "leave a copy on the server" which means the PC will get the originals and the iphone copies.
