Sending Email via broadband in place of modem

I am set up to send non web based emails using a dial up modem, however having now gone to broadband it would make sense for me to be able to send my emails without having to use the dial up modem each time.

I do not seem to have any problem getting all my mail via Broadband but it faults on outgoing mail when I try a send.

I guess the solution is in the protocol set up.

can someone guide me as to what the procedure is.

I can use either Outlook Express or Microsoft outlook and my OS is Win ME.

why you shouldn't be able to send outbound email via your broadband connection, provided you set the server details correctly in Outlook or Outlook Express.

Access the accounts details by going to tools and selecting 'accounts' or 'email accounts', and check that the outbound (SMTP) server is set for your ISP's mail server. For instance, if you are using a BT broadband connection you should set the SMTP server as:
