sempron vs celeron

the time is here for an upgrade so, please, which is best between AMD sempron 2600+ with 512 ram at £140 ish or Celeron D 2.4Ghz with 512 ram at £157 ish both as a diy kit from Savastore.I know either will be better than a 5 year old Aptiva with 400Mhz and 128 ram!!
Thanks. Yaesu.

hi, i have had celerons and i have had amd's. i am using a sempron 2800+ and it is great. an amd 2600+ is amd's way of saying it's equivilent to an intel 2.6ghz ( so i've been told). you won't go wrong with the sempron or savastore as both are fantastic.

I agree with fishytroll on the Sempron being the better option - the CPUs compared click here. Also, with the money saved you could increase the memory by 256Mb to 768Mb & get an added boost. G
