Sempron is a cheaper AMD processor. It should run as you require

You want the 2500+ Barton core not the Sempron
the Barton has 512 cache the Sempron 256 cache.
You may find it a bit harder to find the 2500+Barton now as well.

I am not saying the Sempron wont clock the same just that the Barton was the best.

A bit more info for you

The Sempron runs at 10 1/2 x 166 = 1.750GHz
The Barton runs at 11x 166 = 1.830

As far as I know the Sempron are also multiplier locked so you would only clock it at 10 1/2 x 200 = 2.1GHz

Plus the cache diference.

I beleive also that the Sempron is also the new 090 silicon [not 100% sure on that]

Review and comparison of the Sempron Barton and Mobile 2500s explains things a little better than I can
