Second hand laptop

Briefly . we had that scheme at work where you could buy a Fujitsu Siemens computer and pay out of salary. Stopped now by the Government.

My Boss bought a laptop and, as I've recently given her some mobility equipment for her father that my aged monther no longer needs, she is passing the laptop on to me.

But, after two years without use, they've forgotten the password. The user/admin one I presume.

If they haven't got the original disks, is there a way round this?

Oh, and I also need a K key because they lost that too!

If its a BIOS password or a HDD encryption password then not much chance.

Op system admin password then maybe,
but more info needed -
Operating system?

and what do you mean by a K key?

Operating system is XP (thank God)

And a K key is the one that when you press it does a K ! :)

You should not offer to bypass any passwords especially "The user/admin one I presume " to gain access to a laptop.

It's in the forum rules Top of the help room page.
